Here are two things I believe in:

Somehow the former often suffers for the sake of the latter. Americans spend more time with work and less time with their families. Such a condition may have be unavoidable in ages past and in times of lean—but this is now and these lean times in America.

There are family-friendly work options. People should be aware of them. People should ask for them. People should demand them.

Family friendly work options should increase employee involvement, commitment, trust, and honesty.
